The interviews continue.....
And the questions keep on coming in.
This set is from the charming
doeadear......
Where and how did you meet R.? How long from that initial meeting until your wedding day?
Already answered here in this entry from 4/3/05.
Who chose Maria as your daughter's name? Was it personal preference, or a family favorite, or something else?
We both did. We decided that we wouldn't name her after any living relative. We had a list of names, which soon got winnowed down to the short list. I think R's paternal grandmother had a name that was similar. I want to say "Maria Magdalena", but I'm not 100% sure on that.
How much do you help with Maria? Do you change diapers, feed, etc?
I change diapers (even if they're poopy), sometimes feed her, pack her lunch, and buy her Pediasure. I also give her "belly blasters", which she loves. On weekends, I'll get up with her while R sleeps in. The goal is to split the parenting chores 50/50, but the actual split's a bit lopsided.
If you could get a job doing anything in the world, something you would enjoy doing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
What I'm doing now at home -- tinkering with computers and using technology to solve problems. And converting paper documents to electronic ones -- scanning them in, touching them up, burning CDs of the images, and pitching the paper (either by shredding or recycling).
Where have you travelled to? Where would you like to travel?
I've never left the continent. I've been to Rochester NY, Tacoma WA, Denver CO, Minneapolis MN, Chicago IL, Indianapolis IN, New York NY (twice), Philadelphia PA, Washington DC, Atlanta GA, St. Petersburg FL, Daytona Beach FL, Disney World, and Toronto ON.
I'd like to go to Boston MA (so long as I don't have to drive there), back to NYC to visit some friends, England, the French countryside, and Italy -- specifically, Sicily (land of my grandfather). But I'll need to find something to occupy me for the hours I'll be on the plane. (And a few drinks to soothe the "air nerves" and help me forget about wind shear and what could theoretically happen while I'm in the sky.)
