Sucking on a network nipple....

Finally broke down and bought a wireless card on Friday. Installed it this weekend. And "broke it in" today.

Visited the Oregon Emporium in the Oregon District, after a meeting with my job counselor and a trip to Mendelson's. The card didn't work at first, so I tried again. Success!

Now I'm at Beef O'Brady's during happy hour. I have a wireless connection, a Black and Tan, and I'm happy. I can download large files and not have to worry about being dropped due to line noise! And it's much faster too! Life doesn't get any better than this.

As for the network nipple reference....that came from one of my fellow technonerdboys here. You can tell where *his* mind was at the time. ;)

Life is good....at least for right now.

Vive San Guiseppe!

As mentioned in a response-comment in my post about St. Patrick's Day, I ought to mention St. Joseph's Day, even though the feaast day has passed.

This holiday is usually celebrated by people of southern Italian descent. St. Joseph is the patron saint of -- aspirin? Bite your tongue! -- the family, the home, and of carpentry. One ritual performed by Catholics who want to sell their house is to bury a St. Joseph statue in the yard, upside down.

The highlight of St. Joseph's day isn't a drunken orgy, but a more respectful and peaceful meal. Here's how I remember celebrating it. )
