Would you please rephrase that in the form of an I-statement? I have an strong issue with being told by people "You need to..."; it comes close to hitting a nerve.

If my Public Library was truly my friend, they'd waive any and all overdue library fees, and have a borrowing period longer than 21 days for books and CDs, and longer than 4 days for DVDs. And they'd be happy to see me. But my reading (and listening and watching) habits are not condusive to such short borrowing times.
