Finding my voice....

peteralway's LJ discussed a duet he wrote (or arranged) for a soprano clarinet and a bass clarinet. quadrivium was talking about getting back to playing clarinet after using a softer reed. If she's going to play the soprano clarinet part, who would play the bass clarinet part?
Why, me, of course.
As far as I know, I'm the only filker with a bass clarinet. In junior high and high school, I played instruments that belonged to the schools. It wasn't until years later that I picked up one for myself. But I haven't had a chance to play it much. I've missed the last few years' worth of filk jams because the family wanted/needed to go home early. And it gets tiresome to play nothing but the Addams Family theme song.
So...with sheet music in hand, I have something to practice, and hopefully get some playing time in. Maybe soon, more people will write parts for me, and I'd be happy to join in. I'd be like a session musician.
