5 things other drivers do that irritate me....

I was going to expand this list to 10 items, but I couldn't come up with enough items to fill the list. Maybe later.

5) Not using their turn signal.
4) Driving slow in the passing lane.
3) Tailgating.
2) Driving on the shoulder. (What's your hurry, people?)
1) Tossing lit cigarette butts out the window.

What are your driving peeves? Let's hear 'em.

People who merge early when a lane is closing. Once traffic has ground to a halt, best behavior is for cars to merge alternately at the point where the obstruction occurs. This is called a "zipper merge". Merging earlier simply slows down the traffic in the lane that isn't going away -- and it annoys the drivers in that lane (who see cars sliding ahead of them in the closing lane) so that they tend to not allow the folks to merge at the obstruction point!

cell phone or other distractions (putting on make up? shaving!)

Having just negotiated the Mt. Prospect Commons parking lot...
People who don't look, they just go. This applies to drivers and pedestrians. People in such a hurry that they trust a moving vehicle to stop so they don't have to.

Yeesh!

Jason - right?

5 - yes
4 - yes
3 - yes
2 - yes
1 - well he doesn't smoke.

In Canada many of us now call any bad driver a Jason. There's a TV show called Canada's Worst Driver, and Jason, well won I guess. Though I don't really want to think of him as a winner. The idea of being on the road with Jason terrifies me. Luckily he decided to retire from driving at the end of the show...

RUBBERNECKERS!!!

If it's someone you know, someone will call you regarding the accident. Otherwise move on, folks, nothing to see here - the crews will take care of things just fine. Besides, if you're that interested and it's bad enough, you'll get quite the eyefull on the evening news.

:oP

I will tolerate an awful lot on the road but one thing that absolutely pisses me off...

cell phone usage while driving.
