Idiot of the Week

Years ago, we had an excellent free-form talk radio host here in Dayton named Kent Voss. He has since moved to Philadelphia, where he's working at a station I can't remember the call letters of. (I did a Google search on "Scrapplefest" and it came up -- WWDB.)

One of the things I remember from his show: Every Friday, people would call in and nominate an "Idiot of the Week" -- someone who was in the media spotlight and did some really stupid thing(s). The person who got the most votes was serenaded by the Idiot of the Week song. (No, Kent didn't sing it.) I don't know if it was one by Monty Python, or Bonzo Dog, or Randy Newman, but it started off with a guy at a piano singing "How sweet to be an idiot".

He also had some great sound effects and sound bites that he played during the show.

Who are my idiots of the week for this week? I have two:
1) Ohio State University for ordering its graduating students that turning their back on commencement speaker George W. Bush was tantamount to a crime and that students who did that wouldn't get their diplomas.
2) The woman who worked for the Forest Service in Colorado that started the wildfires there by burning a letter from her estranged husband's attorney.

Let's hear your idiots of the week.

P.S. Just found out today that my ISP is being sold to a larger competitor in town.
