KDE question.....

On a spare system, I'm running Mandrake Linux 8.2 with KDE 2.2.2. The screen saver requires a password. I've tried my user password, and the root password, and neither works. I can't find a screensaver-specific password setting. What should go in here? (As a workaround, I've turned off "password required").

Also, who would be interested in being on a Linux/KDE filter? Who else wants to thumb their nose in the direction of Redmond, WA?

It *should* be the password of whatever user was logged into that desktop session.

While I find the general "Redmond Sucks" stuff wearisome (true, admittedly, but it's like shooting farm-raised quail with their wings clipped, yknow). as a Linux/Unix professional, I'd be interested in that filter.

hit control-alt-F1, login to the console session as root, and kill the screensaver process.

I'm running Ubuntu 5.10 "Breezy Badger." so yeah, I'd be interested in that filter.
