TW-3 extra for January 15......
Mon 1/15: Spent the afternoon with R and M at Chuck E. Cheese. Had leftovers for dinner. And I finally scrubbed the shower.
I found the ultimate "secret weapon" for soap scum: Scotch-Brite pads. I used both the white (gentle scrubbing) and green (heavy duty) pads. They worked great on the tile and grout! However, I wouldn't use the green one on the shower doors or base -- I'd probably scratch them.
I've known about Scotch-Brite pads for years. They're made of hardened nylon, and they don't disintegrate like steel wool pads. On a Boy Scout weekend campout, I forgot to coat my cooking utensils with soap before using them. The outside of them were coated with soot. One of the adult leaders loaned me his Scotch-Brite pad, and it worked to scrape off the soot. I've been hooked ever since. They work great in the kitchen. I also have a blue non-scratching pad which I use on the non-stick cookware. But I didn't think about using them in the bathroom until today.
I still have a stubborn rust/lime stain at the bottom of my toilet, though. I've tried everything, even Coca-Cola, and it's still there. What else can I use on it?
I should call my mom and wish her a happy birthday.

The stain is at the bottom of the bowl, which means I can't get all the water out to treat it full strength. I can pour a bucket of water into the bowl, which will empty the toilet as much as possible, but it's not a total flush.
I haven't tried the green pad on it because I think I'd scratch the porcelain.
