Chef Tell....

Once again, I scoop filkertom and Wikipedia.

Chef Tell passes away at 63.

I remember Chef Tell from PM Magazine, which was a syndicated evening news/entertainment show in the late '70s and early '80s. His signature sign-off was "I see you!"

According to the news article, he was the inspiration for the Swedish Chef on the Muppet Show.

I remember him - and I even have his cookbook, "Chef Tell Tells All."

My favorite line of his: Very simple, very easy.

He had the knack for making the viewer believe they, too, could cook (something shared by many of the great TV chefs: Julia Child, Martin Yan, and Emeril Lagasse all have it, too).

Only 63. What a shame.

My dad used to say that all the time (and we were *faithful* PM Magazine watchers).
