Two months ago, I had to put Bubastis (one of my cats) to sleep. She had advanced hyperthyroidism and was slowly getting smaller and lighter. The last weekend of her life, she crawled into the upstairs bathtub, and wouldn't get out, not for food, not for water, not for the litterbox. My wife convinced me to bring her into the vet as soon as we can get in. After she was put to sleep, we found a local pet cemetery that had a crematorium on-site. We had her cremated and her cremains were put into a small black cat-shaped urn. She now sits on my bookshelf. Here's Bubastis-- or Boo for short -- in better days.

I still miss her and her antics, especially with people food

I remember you writing and talking about Bubastis many years ago. I wouldn't know what to do if I lost my Felix or the Tieu kitty.

What helped me with the grieving was that I had other cats in the house -- Oreo, Marcus (pictured in the icon), Merlin, and Lady. But none of them looked, felt, or acted like the Boo.
