What I did this weekend.....

Friday night, the wife and I had dinner at one of our favorite restaurants -- Sweeney's Seafood in Centerville. Then we went out pleasure driving. This time, we ended up in Camden, OH -- a small town about 10 miles from the Indiana border. On the way there, I missed a turn and ended up on a road I was not familiar with. We passed by a shooting range that I didn't know was there, and there were people shooting something at dusk. I first thought it was fireworks, but when my wife told me it was gunfire, I got a little scared and said I was hoping they weren't shooting at us. (When I pleasure drive, I make every effort to stay on public roads.) We reached the small town of Somerville before we got on a round that led us to Camden. We stopped for ice cream (and a bathroom break) before continuing north to Eaton, then east to West Alexandria, southeast to Farmersville, then to Germantown, and back home. Looks like I have a new corner of the world to explore.

Saturday was our typical "run errands and shop" day. We went up to Fairborn to pick up a picture frame and mat that we ordered several months ago. I also stopped at one of the comic book shops up there to pick up a few goodies. From there, it was off to Huber Heights to pick up a pair of shoes I had resoled. Then we went to the monthly social gathering of one of the science fiction club we're in, and hung out for a few hours. Part of the group went off to the next room to play Eurorails, while the rest of us chatted into the night.

Sunday, my wife and I finally saw Attack of the Clones (aka Star Wars Episode II). Not a bad movie, but it still isn't my all-time favorite SW movie. (That honor goes to episode V.) It was better than episodes I and VI, though, and is about even with IV.

Now I -- and the rest of the world -- will have to wait another three years for episode III to make the saga complete.
