Who am I? Where am I? Where am I coming from? I don't know.

My inner soundtrack for this afternoon, based on one of the things going on in my life right now. I think this song is quite apropos for the situation.

One of my favorite early March/spring equinox songs.

Though your mind may hold the winter time / Spring is never very far behind.... )

Stairway to Heaven? Freebird? No. Neither of them. Two of my favorites are "Green Grass and High Tides" by the Outlaws, and "Grendel" by Marillion. I found one of my Marillion tapes, one sent to me by a Bitnet relay "pen-pal" from Holland when I was still in college. On the tape was "Real to Reel", "Market Square Heroes", and a few singles.

Grendel is an incredible 17-minute magnum opus which, according to Wikipedia, recounts part of the Beowulf story from Grendel's point of view.

I can kick up some powerful energies if I imitate Fish (the lead singer) or imagine myself performing this song -- especially the finale.

Lyrics from the finale from 'Grendel' )
