Woke up at 3:30am (aka "oh-dark-hundred"). Couldn't fall back to sleep.

Just got a drop-carrier while trying to download email. Gotta wait 15 minutes before I try again; that's how long the lock-out lasts. Argh. Most of the time it's "connection closed by foreign host (0)". Would this go away if I upgraded to Eudora 6.2? I'm currently using 5.2.1. And most of my drops happen when I download email. I can be in my browser and not have any drops for an hour or more.

Meanwhile, the Airborne (or DHL) cargo jets that took off from Wilmington Airport are flying overhead. I can hear them. The noise doesn't bother me. But it bothered some of my fellow residents years ago. I guess they changed their flight plans to make less noise.

If I can only be this awake when I need to be awake. Like 6:30am or later. If I lay in bed long enough, I'll drift back to sleep. But not right now.

Hockey!

After a one-year hiatus due to the players' strike and owners' lockout, we have NHL hockey again.

While flipping the dial, FSN (Fox Sports Net) Ohio had the Columbus Blue Jackets/Calgary Flames game on. (Calgary won; 3-1.) It just felt good to watch hockey again. All I needed was a Molson or Labatt's in my hand, and I'd be all set.

Thumbs up for the two Molson "Hockey's Back" commercials. One has the lights coming up in an arena. The other was a take-off of the scary movies where people in goalie masks and hockey jerseys are stalking a cute woman alone in her house.

Although I'll be stuck with whatever game ESPN or ESPN2 serve up. I can't afford NHL Center Ice, and I'm not sure I can pick up the CBC on satellite.

And now, please rise for the Canadian National Anthem: "DUN da-DUN DA-dun, DUN da-DUN DA-dun, DUN da-DUN DA-dun DAAAA....." :-)
