The item I won and paid for last week arrived yesterday.

Almost.

I wasn't home to sign for it, so the courier left me a sticky-tag on the door.

I tried to call FedEx (1-800-GOFEDEX) to see if I could schedule a delivery date and time. Their customer service center is now completely automated and voice-activated. In order to speak to a human being, I have to say "rep" (which is short for "customer service representative", but that's not made clear in the system). Since it's a ground shipment, and an external contractor, they can't schedule a delivery date and time. So I'm at the mercy and whim of the courier.

So now this afternoon, I'm waiting..... )

[Updated 23:15] It arrived at around 3:15pm. It took a while to bring it upstairs to the loft area. (It's heavy!) And now I'm testing it out. As the salesman said, there was some damage to the plastic exterior. The upper right corner is beaten up pretty badly; it even bent the frame.

And what could be a deal-breaker: R's not too happy that I bought this without telling her. Oops.
