Still waiting for the code to drop.....
May. 30th, 2007 02:50 pmWe still haven't received the code drop. The last I heard is that it's supposed to happen this afternoon.
Talked with one of the members of the server team. He talked me through the process of checking my email via the web, using a spare SecureID he had. The bad news is that my old email is not on the server -- it's on the bad hard drive. The good news is that I already started the data recovery process at home, using GetDataBack for NTFS. It's analyzing the disk as we speak. But I'll need to pony up $79 if I'm to actually pull the data from the bad disk.
In the meantime, our in-house IT guys found the Office 2003 disk, but since it's not going to help me get my email back, I declined to install it.
Meanwhile I'm passing time reading articles about hockey teams and players on Wikipedia.
And I'm on daddy duty tonight. I hope M doesn't want to play computer games this evening.
