Box 2......
Apr. 28th, 2006 02:15 amThis afternoon, I finally tackled one of the early boxes of files I've had in my possession. This box predates my addiction to office supply stores and their wares; it's a blue one I picked up at K-Mart. It contained stuff from my time in Boy Scouts, the Les Amis Fencing Club, getting my drivers' license, and UB. It was tough to say goodbye to some of this stuff. But most of it went.
I kept things pertaining to my Eagle service project (a bicycle inspection and rodeo) -- proposals, final reports, and congratulatory letters. I also kept the Shell answer books I picked up in the '70s and '80s. Those were handy little pamphlets, although the technology in cars has changed a lot since then. It's common for cars to hit 100,000 miles now. But most of the university stuff went -- pamphlets and information sheets I'd picked up over the years. I kept the campus maps, report cards, and a few of the campus film schedules. I also shredded anything that had my Social Security number on it, since that was what the university used to identify me. (Hopefully by now, they've switched over to a different system, such as student ID.)
The file cleanup is going well. Only a few more boxes to go. The hardest part now is to keep going.

Date: 2006-04-28 03:23 pm (UTC)UB now issues a student number when you first register. And if you find my card, it's worthless to you because my passwords are part registration number along with my birthday.
