Last night, I saw a commercial that made me laugh out loud. It's rare for a TV spot to do that, but this one did.
It's for Tim Horton's, a coffee-and-baked goods chain based in Canada. The commercial was in the style of an investigative news report, trying to find out if there was any added ingredient in the coffee that made it taste so good.
I laughed during the commercial because several months ago, I read an article on Snopes.com which dispelled the rumor that Tim's added nicotine to their coffee to make it addicting.
The commercial also referred viewers to the website 15millioncanadians.com.
Was the commercial entertaining? You betcha. Did it get the message across effectively? Yes.
