He's really been deteriorating for the last few weeks. I know his owners didn't want him to suffer and I can't imagine he wasn't with all the new problems that have developed. Poor guy. He was a beautiful horse. Now he's probably up there playing with all the other KY Derby winners who have passed before him as well as Tink's beloved Bubba. What fun they must be having!
Yeah... I just saw this on the evening news. *sigh*
Sucks to have come back from the break only to succumb to laminitis... I can understand the owners' decision, though... laminitis is amazingly painful and basically meant that one leg was still weak from all the surgeries and the other three couldn't support his weight without extreme pain.
