I agree that there is a lot of hysteria surrounding nuclear power. As someone who has both a background and a keen interest in science, I don't want to give in to the will (and shrill voice) of the anti-nuclear activists without giving it the scientific once-over.
I'd also love to see the development of renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and hydroelectric. How can we harness river water to drive turbines without sacrificing the navigatability of the waterways?
