Week of 5/13/02
May. 16th, 2002 09:56 pmNot much going on this week at the LODB&G. At work, I've completed a marathon update of adding part owner information to a parts list containing over 3400 parts....and I had to add them one at a time. I tried to write a query to do this grunt work for me -- that's what computers are for -- but the database gagged and said "it didn't update these records due to key violations". Argh argh argh. And then I go home and spend more time on the computer. Am I addicted or what?
gleepy told me about the LJ-specific tags in the FAQ. I think I'll try them out.
Can you hear me now? Good.
Some commercials are cute the first time I hear or see them, but after repeated airings, they get annoying.

Like that ad for Verizon, with the guy who is outstanding in his field -- waitaminnit, no he's not -- testing the limits and range of his cell phone. You know the one.
Can you hear me now? Hello?
Fox Mulder never had this problem. He could be in a steel and concrete enclosed bunker, twenty feet below the ground, and still make and receive calls!
Scully, it's me.
What service does he have? I want it! Unless it's Verizon. They laid off one of my friends and closed a call center when they were talking about unionizing.
Even though I have one of those stick-on cell phone antenna enhancers -- I found one for less than $10 -- it still doesn't enhance the signal enough for me to make and receive calls from work. I have to step outside. But once I'm outside, it works great. OK, I'm near a shielded area in the buiilding, and maybe that's affecting the reception where I am.
Did anyone see Tuesday's Buffy? Whoa! After what happened last week, I was expecting to see Warren's head on a pike (and no, I'm not talking about
figmo's Warren). Willow really made him feel the pain. After what he did in last week's episode, he deserved it. And I'm sure we'll hear from the Religious Reich about this show, if we haven't already.
Yes, I also saw the Friends season finale.
