Missing email found. Film at 11.......
Jan. 3rd, 2004 10:42 pmAfter a politely-worded email message (and phone call), I got a response from my ISPs tech support. They'll check to see why I'm not receiving any advance notice of upgrades or changes. And they restored my old email. Apparently it was in some holding area that I couldn't access via normal means during this upgrade.
They also added a line to the SqWebMail logon screen so that people who were customers of the old ISP and log in would be advised to use a different email client (IMP) during this upgrade.
I don't know the details behind the problem or the resolution, but it's been fixed. Although it would have been nice to hear in the voice mail reply that the problem is fixed, not just "Call us if you have any further problems with your email." And I would have really appreciated a "We're sorry that happened". If that was me doing the tech support, that's what I would have done. (And I'm sure my friend Diane who works there would have done the same thing.)
