Computer update......
Mar. 1st, 2004 11:39 pmI got a call from the computer shop this afternoon. They found that the fan on the power supply was not running, and recommended a replacement. Since it's a 4-year-old system, and that the replacement cost was relatively cheap ($30), I advised them to proceed. Then they began the data recovery. The technician told me that they were able to ghost the entire drive, so the prognosis for a complete data recovery is good. They'll also investigate whether an upgrade to the BIOS on my motherboard is available.
And the Republicans have been sending me love notes. Why they choose to waste their money on me, I do not know. In the past few weeks, the local Republican Party rep sent me 4 oversized post cards urging me to vote for David Landon for my precinct captain. The past two days, he or one of his minions left cards in my door with a reminder to vote for him. What irritates me is that I am *not* a registered Republican! I voted in a Republican primary ten years ago to vote *against* a staunch anti-choice candidate for Congressional representative. Even though I officially changed my affiliation to Libertarian several years ago by voting Libertarian in a primary, the Republicans still think I'm one of them! I guess I'll have to vote the Democratic ticket to change my affiliation again (although temporarily) and send a clear message to the local Republican Party Machine that I no longer wish to receive their elephant dung or their propaganda.
Tomorrow: Primary Day in Ohio.
