Put the following information up in your own journal:
Name a band you were turned on to, and then suggest a group playing a similar type of music that you found on your own that you'd like to suggest.
For me, there are probably several bands in my collection like this. Let's start with......electronica.
In 1974, I heard "Autobahn" by Kraftwerk for the first time on the radio. (It was the short version, and I think it barely cracked the top 40.) In the next few years, I picked up more of their albums in vinyl form -- Radio-Activity, Trans-Europe Express (another Album That Rocked My World), The Man-Machine, and Computer World.
Many years later (I want to say either 2000 or 2001), I was at the local Borders, and in their listening kiosk, they had "The World of Tomorrow" by a band called Komputer. I gave them a listen, and I went home with the CD that night. If Kraftwerk were still together (and I'm not sure they are), they'd make music like Komputer. I love that they call their studio "The Lab".
(There's found filk on this one too! There's a song about Valentina Tereshkova that I'd love to learn and add to my filk repertoire. Valentina is, as you probably already know, the first female cosmonaut.)
