It's bright out.....
Dec. 23rd, 2004 01:03 pmWoke up at 6:45 to start digging out my wife's car. (Saturns do not do well in snow over 6" -- that's 15 cm for you metric system lovin' folks -- of snow on the ground.) I got stuck getting in last night from a post office and grocery run, so The Wife wanted me to dig her car out before she left for work.
30 minutes into the job, and about 10 minutes' worth of work to go, R came out to tell methat they closed her office. Huzzah! (She works in the billing department of a local hospital. And some PHB in her chain of command thinks billing department people are mission-essential personnel, equivalent to doctors and nurses.) And so we went back inside, to rest, perchance to sleep.
The Girl woke up around 8, even though Mom and Dad wanted to sleep in. R gave her some Pediasure, which ended up on the living room carpet a couple of hours later. :( Thank goodness for my Bissell Little Green machine and the carpet/upholstery hand scrubber.
Even though the sky is overcast, it's really bright out. And I love the bluish cast of twilight on a snowy day. And I love sitting at home with a hot drink in my mug -- coffee, tea, cocoa -- especially if it has a shot of a liqueur in it!
I may have to drag out my Blizzard of '77 stories a little earlier than expected.
