7 songs I've heard recently.....
Nov. 5th, 2005 10:37 pmList seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your Livejournal along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.
1. Manhattan Transfer, "Birdland"
This song reminds me of one of the high points of my time in high school. This was originally a tune by the 70s jazz band Weather Report; MT added lyrics.
2. Sarah Brightman, "Arabian Nights"
Imagine a full orchestra, augmented with rock band instruments (keyboards, guitar, bass, drum kit, and lots of hand drumming). And that incredible powerful yet delicate voice!
3. Juno Reactor, "Luna-Tic"
Very techno and spacey. Kind of like the stuff you'd hear at a rave party. Heavy beat, cool sounds, and analog synths.
4. Kraftwerk, "The Robots"
The forefathers of what we now know as "electronica". I will soon be using the first 8 seconds as a startup sound for one of my computers.
5. Pat Metheny, "New Chautauqua"
A very mellow guitar sound. And a great song for driving.
6. John Tesh, "Garden City"
Yes, the guy who used to host Entertainment Tonight. This song -- and the CD it came from -- is also wonderful for driving.
7. John Serrie, "Gentle; The Night"
Space music that you might hear on Hearts of Space or Echoes, or in a planetarium. I like to fall asleep to this.
And now it's time to pay it forward. I tag....
