Yeah, the guy said it wasn't their standard procedure. But I was happy and surprised) to get the discount. My "dream machine" for $1250! Yowza! (I've been in love with the K2000 series since I first demo'ed one in 1993.)

Once I receive the instrument, I plan to do some inspection "under the hood" and look at the electronics, and the case from the inside. I might be able to do some patching with a resin panel and a soldering iron. The "high-level" diagnostics I mentioned referred to some deep heavy-duty checking. Maybe I should have called them "low-level" diagnostics.

And then it's time to look for a real flight case for it, along with some hardware/software/firmware upgrades. The computer/electronics are 8 years old, so there's a huge potential for upgrading. With my computer smarts, I might be able to do it myself. And I really don't need their current-model and top-of-the-line K2661.
