Super Bowl XL ads......

poltr1As many long-time readers know, I often watch the Big Game just for the ads. This year, I taped the game and the commercials for posterity and later viewing. (Now to convert them to DVD, or grab 'em via USA Today's website.)
Here are my top 10 ads for this year. I look for clever, humorous commercials that aren't overly sexist (yes, I'm well aware straight men love to look at womens' bodies and the folks on Madison Ave. know this as well) and don't show people doing stupid things.

5) Aleve, "Leonard Nimoy"

Honorable mentions go to Ameriquest ("Hospital" and "Airplane"), Ford Hybrid (featuring Kermit the Frog singing "It's Not Easy Being Green"), Dove ("Girls"), and the Toyota Camry Hybrid (first bilingual ad).

Date: 2006-02-08 04:29 pm (UTC)In past years, I had a 0-5 scale, 5 being "Holy crap! (or) I'm ROTFLMAO! This is one of the best commercials of all time!" (EDS' "Cat Herding" and Apple's "1984" rank as 5's) to 0 being "This is crap! I'm not gonna buy their product ever again!" I still used it to rank this year's commercials, but I didn't bother to list all of them in my blog this year.
