Imagination at work!
Jan. 24th, 2003 11:01 pmIt's Super Bowl time, which means some of the world's best known companies will roll out new commercials. And some have already rolled them out.
Last week, on the Golden Globe Awards show, General Electric rolled out three new ads, and a new slogan: Imagination at work. (No surprise here; NBC is owned by GE.) There was one for GE Medical Systems, which featured a lightning-fast clerk in a massive information warehouse. There was one for GE Plastics, which featured idle painting robots playing poker. And there was one for GE Aircraft Engines, which featured the Wright Brothers and their Wright Flyer....with a jet engine strapped to the top of the plane. (I think I know which engine model, but I'm not completely sure.) In order, I liked the Aircraft Engines one best, followed by Plastics, and then Medical Systems.
If you missed the ads, you can see an online version of them at http://www.ge.com/en/company/companyinfo/ads.htm. Note that it requires a relatively new version of Windows Meda Player (version 6 or later; preferably version 7).
There are also some online ads available at http://www.imaginationatwork.com. These ads require the Macromedia Shockwave (version 6) plugin.
