Retail therapy for cabin fever?
Mar. 19th, 2006 11:02 pmIn the wintertime, I tend to not go anywhere where I don't have to (i.e. work). It's like I'm in virtual hibernation.
This winter has been mild. One of the things that gets me out of the house is going shopping (or as some call it, "retail therapy"). I avoid the malls unless absolutely necessary. There are several stores I frequent -- mostly bookstores, media stores (CDs and DVDs), office supply stores, and computer stores. The problem is, this can go only so far. Once I run out of cash, or room, or when there's nothing on my shopping list, it's "Game Over".
Other than that, I don't socialize very much in the wintertime. I rarely visit friends. Some days I wonder if I have any. LJ becomes my lifeline to the outside world. It's lonely, but I've become numb to the loneliness.
