"....above and beyond expectations...."
Jul. 27th, 2006 08:41 pmThis week, we had Bill (our government customer) up here to help us with some of the business logic and minutia of the program that my team and I have been working on the past couple of months. It was a great help to have him here, showing us what needed to be done, instead of telling us via Word documents and annotated screen shots.
Yesterday, he demonstrated the program to the lieutenant colonel in charge of the project, along with a full-bird colonel, and several chief master sergeants from all over the world. I was mindful of the axiom "the demo always fails". There were a couple of glitches, and a carpeting crew hammering away at times. But it went very well.
Later that day, we heard some good news from Bill. The colonels told him that the software went above and beyond their expectations. I'm sure they're all looking forward to the beta test and eventual deployment in early October.
