TW-3 for December 15-17, 2006......
Dec. 17th, 2006 08:36 pmFri 12/15: Went to a way-cool house concert/party featuring Snakes Rising and firespinners. And I got to do some drumming. What a way to bring in Yule!
Sat 12/16: Spent the morning running errands and having brunch at the Waffle House. Spent the afternoon with R and M. In the evening, went to the company's holiday dinner at Carvers. R had no interest in joining me, so I went alone. Had a very nice prime rib, with sherried mushrooms, a spinach salad, baked potato, a stuffed portabella mushroom for an appetizer, and and creme brulee for dessert. And the two gin and tonics definitely helped! After I got home, I spent a little more time on the holiday cards while watching "Deal or No Deal". ([Added 12/18 10:41] I get the game mechanics now. Pretty simple, really, with a focus on the suspense.) I'm sending out a grand total of 88 cards this year.
Sun 12/17: Continued work on the holiday cards. (Tell me again why I do this every year.) In the afternoon, I went to one of the local coven's by-invitation-only Yule ritual and potluck. I made chicken crescent casserole. The host now wants the recipe. R is still reviewing my draft of the newsletter, which will delay the mailing of half of my cards. In the meantime, I ran some long-needed diagnostics on the desktop computer.
[Added 12/18 10:41] Thanks to
athenawindsong for inviting me to Friday's and Sunday's events!
And now I'm noticing something wrong with the monitor. It's either the monitor or the card, but every place there's black or gray, there's horizontal ghosting, as if the entire line is grayed out.
