Remember the movie "Office Space", where the waitress (played by Jennifer Aniston) complained that her manager said she didn't have enough items of "flair" on her? That's the inspiration for this meme.

I avoid keeping stuff I can't replace in my cubicle as a rule. I've experienced one job loss where I wasn't allowed back in to retrieve my stuff, and other friends have had multiple such occasions.

I nearly ran into the same problem with the bank job last year. But my account manager was gracious enough to retrieve my personal items for me and ship them to my home.

I'll keep that in mind for the next job.
