It seems that whatever personal time I had no longer exists. From 6-9pm, it's "family hour" -- I'm either eating, running errands, or spending time with M. It's not until M falls asleep that I get to do what I want to do -- go online, watch TV, or whatever. The problem is, I'm usually conking out by 9:30. But by 6:30 the following morning, I'm awake.

I guess this is a "welcome to fatherhood", a few years late.

You'll find it interesting that long after M has moved out, you will still think of 9:30 as an exciting and special time, LOL.

That very might be true.

I didn't touch an instrument for seven years.

OTOH, the rewards are quite, quite different. And you may find your child leading you into interests that you never imagined. I wouldn't be in my profession if I hadn't had kids.

Hehe, yeah, welcome to fatherhood :) But it only lasts a few years. By the time the kids are 12 they are ready to give you your evenings back for the most part.
