...or so it seems.
When R's friends were moving her stuff out last weekend, one of them inadvertantly closed the garage door. I've been having problems with my garage door opener for the past couple of years, and have been leaving it open a couple of inches so I could open it again. If I used the opener, it would go up halfway and quit. So I've been openin ang closing it manually. The problem is, when it got completely closed, it was locked, and I had to call a garage door specialist to come open it. I didn't have keys to the emergency open, so he ended up popping out the lock, and fishing for the cable.
Thursday night, my washing machie stopped agitating. The motor was still running, though. I had to fish the wet clothes out of the machine and schlep them to a local laudromat to finish the job. I called a local service place on Friday, who said they could send someone out on Monday. After taking today off, I got a call from the service center at around 4 pm, saying they couldn't make it today, but that they could make it tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. I asked them to call me at both home and at work. I know some jobs take longer than the initial estimate, but it would have been nice to know at around noon that they couldn't have fit me in today.
