Interview questions from

Feb. 28th, 2007 07:09 pm1. Do you plan on being more active with the Bismarck now that you have a little more free time?
I'd like to, but as you know, the Bismarck is not my only social outlet. I'm going to miss the anniversary party because I'll be at a Snakes Rising concert that night. I may also miss the Masquerade in August because it may conflict with a friend's annual house party.
One of the things I find disappointing about the Bismarck, and most other clubs, is that the members want to see and know only one side of me. No one in the group has asked about my involvement in the filk community, the mens' group that I'm in, or the local pagan community.
2. When you were 10, what was your dream job?
I wanted to be a disc jockey.
3. Do you like musicals? If so, which is your favorite?
Yes. In fact, I was in the pit orchestra for 3 out of 4 years in high school. We did Guys and Dolls ('79), the Music Man ('80), and The Boy Friend ('81). My favorite is Music Man, followed closely by Guys and Dolls.
4. Your walking down the street, a lady falls that was in front of you, what do you do?
I go up to her and offer to help her up.
5. How did you find me on Live journal?
I honestly don't remember, although I suspect it was through mooneflowerz. I'm glad we met!

Date: 2007-03-01 12:44 am (UTC)-Does anyone really know about them? I mean I know of other interest you hold due to LJ, but do you bring up other interest when yakin' it up with the fellow Bismarck members? Sometimes with the group you gotta take the bull by the horns to get noticed. It took me years of being in the group to get comfy enough to do that though.

Date: 2007-03-01 12:46 am (UTC)I love The Music Man, we did that as a musical when I was in HS for the Muse Machine. In HS I was always in the orchestra pit for the local high school musicals.. that was always fun as they always had to write the viola part for me, or I had to play the second violin parts.

Date: 2007-03-01 08:53 am (UTC)Being in the musicals was one of the happy points of my high school days.
We rented professional music scores for our musicals. I was one of the lower woodwind guys. There was one piece in the Music Man -- Marian the Librarian -- where the lower woodwind part was written for bassoon, and I had to spend time transposing the music for bass clarinet. I tried sight-transposing, but that didn't work very well.
Twilight Zone Moment.
Date: 2007-03-01 01:47 am (UTC)So, in chatting with this guy (whose name escapes me, although he cheerfully agreed to be called "the fake Alex", since the staff had secretly been calling Alex "The fake....." whatever dude's name was), we talked about where we should have met before, and he said "Well, ever heard of my band, Snakes Rising?" and I had to laugh. What if Alex and I HAD gone with y'all to that one show?
Spoooooky.
