Now I've reached the pile of wedding cards. R and I were married in August of 1999. I want to save these and make a scrapbook, along with the rest of the wedding stuff, but a part of me says it's a moot point, a wasted effort.

We were so happy together back then.

Some advice from one who has gone through this - put the wedding cards in a box and stash them for now. You aren't ready to look at them yet. Pull them out in a year or so and then look at them.

I think Zorya's advice and your own comment here is the best course of action. It breaks my heart that you're so sad. :-(

I could see saving the cards in a box for your daughter. It still is part of her family's history.

They even make fancy wedding boxes for this sort of thing. Definitely save them, IMO. I let my ex have all the wedding things and since he's passed away I'm sure they all ended up in the dump when his second wife went through the stuff.

What never occurred to me at the time I gave them all to him is that there are precious pictures of my own friends and family in there that I'll never have or see again.
