I skipped the fireworks celebration. Too much having to deal with crowds and traffic, and no one to go with. (M does not do well with loud noises.) I think my cats are happy I stayed home; we could all hear the loud booms from home. The firwaorks were shot from the high school stadium about 2 miles away from me. On nights when the marching band is practicing, I can hear them.

I tried installing the MuVo software on tardis (that's the laptop), rebooting, and plugging in the MuVo. Nothing. Then I thought, "What if I supply power to the USB card that the MuVo is plugged into?" Sure enough, it did the trick and recognized the MuVo. So I started loading songs onto it -- all 5 CDs from the Living In Oblivion series.

I also tried one last time on orac (that's the desktop), plugging in the MuVo to a powered USB hub. Nothing except the display of the "pulse" going from the unit to the computer. Maybe I got some leftover driver or program that's preventing the MuVo from being recognized. I'll deal with that later. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my music on the MP3 player and use the laptop to load it with music while I uninstall the MuVo software on the desktop.

We didn't go out either and it was a good thing overall. Our next door neighbors were shooting off some pretty strong fireworks last night. The dogs were close to hysterical and some of the cats were very nervous.

We weren't absolutely sure but I think they went over the border to get them. They were more powerful than the stuff you can find in the area stores. Thank goodness it has been raining this weekend.
