[Opened up to the general public on 10/29/03. -JJP]
This weekend's coming faster than I expected. Up until last week, I thought OVFF was 10/31-11/2. Wrong! It's 10/24-26. Aieeee!
Once again, I'm not planning on bringing any instruments, because (1) I haven't practiced and I'm waaaay out of shape, (2) I have no songs, (3) I'm an emsemble performer, not a soloist, and (4) I won't have room in the car for them and Maria's things.
I was hoping to have my Moog Music T-shirt by now, but there was a glitch on the ordering site that prevented shipping costs from being calculated. So I'll have to pull out some of the old standbys that I'll wear only to filk conventions, SF cons, and/or Mensa RGs.
Here's my planned offering for Interfilk: A plastic fish that says "Gefilte" on it, 3 CDs by MIDI guitarist Mark Dwane (if I can find them), and a tin of Killer Brownies(tm) from the Dorothy Lane Market. (The moistest, richest brownies you'll ever eat!)
And my planned offering for the Con Suite: More Killer Brownies, maybe some Esther Price chocolates, and the utterly decadent chocolate-covered potato chips.
We'll skip Friday night, and show up on Saturday morning or afternoon. If we can get a room, we'll stay the night. If not, we'll go home that evening. (So why don't I reserve a room in advance? Because I'm a procrastinator.)
