On Monday, I had an in-person interview with the functional manager of the project. We met at a local coffee shop. We talked for about 45 minutes.

On the way home, I received a call from the recruiter, informing me that they want to offer me the job (pending successful results of a background check). Later that day, I accepted.

I'm happy that I'm soon to be employed again. I'm sad to be leaving Dayton, though. I spent 21 years of my life here, and my daughter's still here. Along with a lot of friends and acquaintances I picked up while I was here.

Yesterday, I faxed in a form and my birth certificate. Today, I went for fingerprinting. Idon't have a start date yet,but I know it's going to be soon.

Congrats!
Ya know, you must be doing something right. I know lots of IT sorts of guys who are under and un- employed and seem content to stay that way. You keep finding contracts. They may be of short duration. They go away, but you keep looking. You keep trying.
There are fellows that could, no make that ought to take a lesson from you.

Congrats! That's great news! :-)

And Kentucky's not that far away... it's not like you can't go back to Dayton for visits, and being out from under the stress of being unemployed will probably make a huge improvement in the quality of the time you _are_ able to spend with people.

With both of us leaving Dayton that puts DPA back to square one on who is going to be webmaster. Maybe they can con Kris into the job. :-)

So are you glad that you did the decluttering over the past months rather than having an "oh crap" moment now? ;-)
