poltr12012 -- or its equivalent on the Chinese calendar, 4709 -- is a year of the Dragon.
Many of you have seen the paper placemats at Chinese restaurants, showing the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. Theirs is a 12-year cycle. Each person born during a certain year has the attributes of that animal. (There's also a 5-year cycle of materials -- Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth -- that run concurrently with the 12-year cycle.)
I was born in a Year of the Dragon. What does it say about the Dragon? "You are eccentric and your life complex. You have a very passionate nature and abundant health. Marry a Monkey or Rat late in life. Rooster is great as well. Snake, sheep and pig will take little more work. Avoid the Dog and Horse. Ox will drive you crazy."

Eccentric? Well, I'm not exactly wealthy enough to be labeled "eccentric", so I'll settle for "quirky".
Complex life? Oh yes. Between my varied interests, I'm difficult to pigeonhole. And I like it that way. If I'm predictable, I'm boring, and people will lose interest in me.
Passionate? I think so. Get me talking about some of my favorite interests and I won't stop talking.
Abundant health? I'd like to think so. But in the past few years, I've had my doubts. Some days I wonder if I'll make it to 60.
Non-conformist? Hell yeah! I don't like following other people's directions or suggestions. When I am, I think I'm someone else's puppet or patsy.
Temperamental? You betcha. I may have talked about my "legendary Sicilian temper" in the past here. When I get pissed off, look out. I don't exactly shoot lasers from my eyes (a la Cyclops from the X-Men), but it sure feels like it. Especially from someone who's at the receiving end.
