Tonight I turn my roving eyes to.....the funny names of companies and business, along with humorous slogans. I thought I covered this before in an entry long ago. Ah well.

Bauer Radiator, Tonawanda NY. One of their pickup trucks had on it, "Best place to take a leak."

A-1 Pest Doctors, Dayton OH. Their billboards show a bug on a stretcher being wheeled out by a guy in a white coat. Slogan: "All our patients die!"

Bunghole Liquors, Salem MA. 'Nuff said!

Laughter Corporation, Dayton OH. It's pronounced "louter", not "laffter". And no, I don't know what they manufacture.

The Needmore Beer Drive Thru, on Needmore Rd. in Dayton OH. I think they should add some punctuation: "Needmore Beer? Drive Thru!"

Hill's Pills, a pharmacy in Centerville, OH that closed in the last few years.

Amigone Funeral Home, Buffalo NY. Despite the unusual name (Am I Gone), the Amigone family owns several in the area. Even made it into Ripley's Believe It Or Not!

Bury Funeral Home, Kenmore NY. Was sold to another family or group in the last few years.

Any others?

They also have a bar off Needmore and Wagner Ford Road called "Need1more" I have gotten a kick out of that name for years for some reason. Just what you want to tell a drunkm "need one more?" LOL

Not exactly a business name or slogan, but I was amused by the sign advertising a lightning-fire-burned (as so many are) scrubland in southern Florida: "For Sale: Two "extra-crispy" acres"

Have always enjoyed the "All our patients die" signs.

When the Town of Cheektowaga NY came up with a new slogan, they put it on all of the town vehicles. I nearly bust a gut laughing when I was stopped at a red light and noticed the lettering on the truck next to me "Cheektowaga Sewer Department -- We're Growing in a New Direction"

For a very brief period of time, Old Gold cigarettes had a billboard ad at Broadway and Fillmore (the heart of Little Poland in Buffalo) that read "Be an O.G. man, Smoke Old Gold cigarettes" Apparently no one told them that calling a Pole an O.G. is similar to calling an American an S.O.B.! Them's fightin' wurds!
