Name a CD you own that no-one else on your friends list does.
5 CDs:
Requiem for the Americas. A great set of songs in tribute and homage to the Native American people. Performed by Jonathan Elias and a horde of guest musicians. and performers.
The Monuments of Mars by Mark Dwane. Electronic music inspired by Richard Hoagland's book and realized on a MIDI guitar.
Secrets of Synthesis by Wendy Carlos. The legendary synthesizer virtuoso discusses some of her works and techniques in producing electronic music.
Seven Waves by Suzanne Ciani. A very relaxing and soothing suite of music by another synthesizer wizard.
Strange Animal by Gowan. Canadian Larry Gowan's second solo album, recorded years before he replaced Dennis DeYoung in Styx.

Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that no-one else on your friends list does.
4 movies:
Koyaanisqatsi. The first movie in Godfrey Reggio's "Qatsi" trilogy. Music by Philip Glass. And no dialogue! The title is a Hopi Indian word meaning "life out of balance".
Max Headroom Story (Beta). The pilot episode which explains how Max came into being. (This is the British version with Matt Frewer as Edison Carter and Amanda Pays as Theora Jones.)
The Mind's Eye (VHS). A series of early (1980s) computer graphics demos combined and set to music by James Reynolds.
The Wicker Man. A British constable (Edward Woodward) goes to the island of Summerisle to investigate the disappearance of a child. Also stars Christopher Lee as Lord summerisle.

Name a book you own that no-one else on your friends list does.
3 books:
Vintage Synthesis by Mark Vail. A history of synthesizers, from simple tone generators to the early digital machines like the Synclavier and the Fairlight.
The Codebreakers by David Kahn. A not-so-brief (and cleared-for-public-release) history of cryptography, from ancient ciphers to the Enigma code used by the Germans in World War II.
Godel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid by Douglas Hofstadter. A fascinating tome about how art, music, and mathematics all interrelate.

Name a place that you have visited that no-one else on your friends list has.
2 places:
Put-In-Bay, Ohio. On South Bass Island, just northwest of Sandusky and Cedar Point. Home of the Perry Peace Memorial, a winery, an underground geode that's big enough to walk through, and the world's longest bar. I call it "The midwest Nantucket".
Fallingwater, in southwest Pennsylvania. One of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpieces built for the Kauffman family of Pittsburgh in the 1930s. The house was built over a waterfall, and seemlessly integrates nature with the house.
