Tonight's snow.....
Feb. 6th, 2007 08:30 pmWe had snow this afternoon. Not a lot -- remember, I'm from Buffalo -- but enough to bring traffic to a screeching (and skidding) halt.
It took me almost two hours to get home via surface streets -- actually, three, including a layover at my doctor's office since I had an appointment, and didn't want to pay the $25 no-show fee. (It usually takes me about a half hour to get between work and home.)
I would think that a few inches of snow would be nothing. But then I keep forgetting that the road crews here in Dayton aren't as efficient as the ones in Buffalo, and the folks here aren't as skilled as driving in snowy weather. I ended up putting the car in second gear and driving no more than 20 mph. I just don't want to slip-slide and rear-end someone, or hit something.
This is definitely a night to stay in. I'm in my jammies now, watching a hockey game.
