poltr1I should be looking and applying for jobs instead of doing this meme. You know how it goes.

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A SECOND HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Assuming my first "house" is the one I'm in now (it's a condo). Either the Hocking Hills region in southeast Ohio, or the northern coast of Lake Erie, in Ontario.
2. WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE ARTICLES OF CLOTHING?
Winter: Cotton twill long sleeve shirts, jeans.
Summer: polo shirts, chinos.
3. THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?
For others: Some Glenn Miller CDs for my parents.
For myself: A filk CD or two at OVFF last October. Maybe [Bill] Roper can remind me what I bought from him.
4. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
6:30 am, to help get The Girl dressed or lunched. And when her and The Wife leave for day care and work, I go back to bed, and sleep in until somewhere between 10 am and 12 noon.
5. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE?
The dishwasher. What a great time saver.
6. IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I already play several, and I should practice more so I can play them better. But if I were to learn another one, I wouldn't mind picking up the trumpet or the guitar.
7. FAVORITE COLOR?
Blue. No particular shade; I like them all.
8. WHICH VEHICLE DO YOU PREFER, SPORTS CAR, MOTORCYCLE, or SUV?
If I had to pick from only these three....SUV. I hate that they're gass guzzlers, but they're versatile.
9. DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE AFTERLIFE?
Yeah. What it looks like I have no idea. To quote the Tick, "Death is Nature's way of saying 'try again'."
10. FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK?
Probably the one The Girl wants read to her the most: Baby Loves by Michael Lawrence.

11. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON?
Summertime. But my "perfect day" would be late spring or early fall, with the temperature about 72 degrees F., low humidity, and no clouds in the sky. And I like snow (but not the cold, wind, or ice).

No tattoos. I've considered the Babylon 5 sword-and-shield icon, and the New Warrior "bird with olive branch with sun in background" icon on my shoulders/upper arms.
13. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Teleportation. I spend so much time and energy traveling from place to place.
14. CAN YOU JUGGLE?
Ha! I've tried and failed.
15. ONE PERSON/PEOPLE FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO.
My dad's father, who passed away in 1933 -- well before I was born and when my father was still a young boy.

Lots of dust, dustbunnies, shoes, and a shredded bottom cover from the box spring. And maybe a cat.
17. WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE DAY?
Saturdays make the week.
18. WHICH DO YOU PREFER, SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?
Sushi. I feel energized after eating sushi. Hamburger (especially McDonald's) brings my energy level down. Now if it's really good hamburger, I might opt for it.

athanasios (I've never seen him post any memes), dagonell (lack of time), and ethansmom (very few posts).

cadhla, bedlamhouse, katyhh, khaosworks, redaxe, and folkmew.
22. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FLOWER?
Daffodils, tulips, and white carnations. Daffodils and tulips tell me that spring is here. The white carnation has special significance to me.
23. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEAL?
Appetizer: Shrimp cocktail, raw oysters and clams.
Beverage: A nice Riesling or Gevurtztraminer (both dry white wines).
Salad: Leaf lettuce with lots of veggies, croutons, bacon bits, and Italian dressing with crumbled gorgonzola.
Entree: Grilled fish steak and seafood (shrimp, scallops), with rice pilaf, sauteed spinach, and a grilled portabello mushroom as side dishes.
Dessert: Cheesecake with a fruit sauce.
24. WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY?
July 20.
25. DESCRIBE YOUR PJs.
Winter: Sweat pants and T-shirt. And wool socks, if it's cold enough.
Summer: Stretch shorts; no shirt.

Sausage patties and eggs, over easy. With coffee, orange juice, and English muffin.
27. DO YOU LIKE YOUR JOB?
I don't have a job. :(

To sit on my tuchus and make money. :) But seriously....one that I get to use my creativity, my analytical skills, and my passion. Something that engages both sides of my brain and my heart. I guess I'd call it "artist-in-residence" in an engineering/R&D environment.
29. WHAT AGE DO YOU PLAN TO RETIRE?
Retire? If I enjoy what I'm doing, I'd love to keep doing it, even if it's on a part-time basis. If I make it to 70, that would be a good stopping or slowing-down point.
30. WHERE DID YOU MEET YOUR SPOUSE OR SIGNIFICANT OTHER?
I met Rebecca at the Ohio Renaissance Festival, in the fall of 1992. She was with Linda Stoops, whom I recognized as a dealer from some of the cons I went to at the time. Rebecca and I talked for about an hour, exchanged contact info, and kept seeing each other at cons. Finally, at Marcon in '96, she asked me out.
