Looks like I'll have to miss OVFF this year......

Today I received a wedding invitation from one of my friends (and who was one of the groomsmen at my wedding three years ago). Brad and Beth have been dating for a number of years, and I'm really happy to see them take this step. The bad news is that the wedding is on November 2 -- the same day as the Saturday of OVFF (Ohio Valley Filk Fest) this year. Grr! Argh!

We weren't home to watch last night's season premieres of Buffy and Frasier, so we taped them. When we got home, my wife watched the Buffy tape; I went up to the computer loft and worked on email (and last night's LJ post).

Well, hmmmmm.... Are you coming to GAFILK?

Probably not. I'm virtually a hermit in the winter months, and the idea of driving 9 hours to Atlanta in the middle of ice storm season does not sound like something I'd care to do. So why don't I fly there instead? 1) Too expensive, and 2) I *hate* flying -- I did long before 9/11. The crowds, the delays, the people next to you who want to engage in smalltalk when you don't want to, and the thought of wind shear at 30,000 feet is not my idea of a good time. Even if I've had three or four drinks. Also, I think one of my cousins is getting married in Buffalo the same weekend as GaFilk. I won't know until I have the invitation in hand.
