Elephant stampede indeed........
Nov. 7th, 2002 12:01 amWell, the voters of Ohio have spoken, and the Republicans have swept all the major state offices, along with many of the local congressional spots. About the only Democratic portion of the state is Cuyahoga County -- Cleveland -- and the Mahoning Valley - Youngstown. The state issue to force rehab to first time drug offenders also failed.
Great. Four more years....of cleaning up elephant droppings.
Earlier this year, the state was in a fiscal mess. Even though the State Supreme Court ordered the state to pay more funding to schools, they haven't done so. Does anyone remember? Naw.....they just remember the latest sound bites from the TV ads.
Maybe I am too jaded and cynical, but I still think most people don't do the research into their candidates. They watch the TV ads and read the newspaper endoresements, and vote what the people tell them to do. Like sheep.
I'd like to thank the Ohio Republian Party for sending me two mailings on who not to vote for -- their candidates.
Oh yeah -- ousted congressman Jim Traficant got about 20,000 votes. He's in the brig. How would he have served his term?
