More applications.....

Applied for about a half-dozen jobs today. Nearly all of which wanted more experience than what I had in the particular language or application, or they wanted newer versions of applications. Example: I worked with Oracle 5.1.22 on an OpenVMS platform for 4 years. But everyone seems to want Oracle 11i. And even thought I have 6 months of C++ experience, they wanted someone with 2 years of experience.
Maybe I'm doing too good of a job filtering myself out or disqualifying myself. After all, I know I'm my own worst critic.
Or maybe it's time I no longer have what people want and it's time to say the hell with the rat race and start my own business.

You will find a job if you're persistent enough. Where are you looking? I might be able to help.

Date: 2006-01-21 01:07 am (UTC)nationjob.com, primarily. The Dayton Chamber of Commerce has partnered with nationjob.com. Haven't been doing too much with monster or dice this time around. Even though I've put in geographical constraints, there are a few people out there who conveniently ignore them. Like the few jobs I get for NYC.
