The Vatican has issued a set of guidelines for motorists.

Ok, I agree with the guidelines -- some of them make a lot of sense -- but to me, it's yet another example of the Holy See trying to dictate how we think and act and how to live my life. That's one of the reasons why I left the church -- because I'm not anyone's puppet.

(On a lighter note, I saw a picture captioned "How to tell if a Catholic is driving too fast". It had a rosary or crucifix hanging on a rear-view mirror, and the Christ figure is hanging on for dear life. The picture is on this page, along with some other religious humor.)

....I graduated from high school. I remember counting down the days from February of that year to graduation day. We had the ceremony outside, at the school stadium. The band played Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance" (as per universal commencement tradition).

Since graduation, I haven't gotten any closer with the people I went to school with. )
