Windows question......
Mar. 22nd, 2006 10:39 pmI'm [still] running Windows 98 SE. And I think I have a memory leak someplace. After I boot up, I have about 50% available resources (according to the Resource Monitor program). After I run programs (e.g. Eudora 5.2.1), the available resources I have shrinks. And I can't get back up to around 50%. (The other 50% are things like Norton SystemWorks and Internet Security).
Does anyone know of a utility that shows the individual processes and the resources they're consuming? In other words, is there a utility comparable to Windows NT/2000/XP's Task Manager? All the cleanup programs address what's on the disk, not what's available in memory.

Date: 2006-03-23 04:04 am (UTC)I've been running FreeMem 4.3 and have noticed there's no correlation between memory usage and resource usage. (Right now, FreeMem reports I have 32.82 Mb free, but Resource Meter reports only 8% system resources free.)
I wouldn't mind giving MemTurbo 2 a try. I'll probably download it the next time I'm at the coffeehouse with the free WiFi connection.
