A near-miss.....
Jul. 14th, 2006 08:53 pmOn Tuesday, we had a small (I'm guessing an F1) tornado show up from out of nowhere. It did some damage in Carlisle, and to some businesses near the Dayton Mall. That's about 5 miles away from where I live. We're fine, the condo is fine, and the data warehouse is fine.
I happened to hear about it after switching the DVD/VCR into VCR mode, and Channel 2 News was previously tuned in. Carl Nichols, the chief weatherman, was on and warned about the tornado a few minutes before the NWS sounded the official warning.
Even though it's past tornado season.....it can still happen.
athenawindsong wondered if this is God's way of indicating displeasure with Dubya. If that's the case, the tornado wouldn't have hit the Carpet Warehouse and the Joker's Comedy Club. It would have hit some other neocon stronghold.
Oh yeah.....one of these days -- or years -- I would like to see a lightning bolt or two zap the fingers of Quicksand Jesus down in Monroe.
